The idea behind Luvup.com is that it is important to maintain the existing social network of family and friends. What could be more effective in maintaining long-distance relationships than taking the time to consider the special days of those special to us? What is more embarassing than forgetting an important day of someone who we care about?

Luvup.com is unique in that the people in your social calendar do not need to have e-mail addresses. Just a name will do. And of course the special dates, such as the birthday and anniversary.

Luvup.com is easy to use: a user signs up for free, and adds his contacts. The user can then invite the contacts to complete their information in the user's social calendar. The contacts which are invited do not need to sign up with Luvup.com to enter their data.

Luvup.com also offers RSS-feeds to users so they can quickly syndicate their social calendars on their personal weblogs or feed aggregators.
